Dieting
on a weekend
Ever avoided
Monday morning standing on the scale? You know reality sets in the moment you
stand on that scale:
The
weekends are not your best friend and that is a fact!
Now,
researchers have some new found facts to back up dieter’s complaints about
weekends being their undoing: Most people do eat more on the weekend, even when
they are trying to lose weight.
Weekend
indulgences can wreak havoc on weight control, either causing our weight to
increase or if we are following a diet to lose weight, can hinder our weight
loss efforts.
The people
who control strictly their eating habits did not change their eating habits or
activity levels on weekends, since they keep a food diary and list of all major
activities.
Dieters who
are indulgent on the weekend in extra food intake showed higher calorie intake
and, most likely, with a much higher fat concentration,
which is due to the occasional
eating of sweets and fried food.
A little
indulgence can turn into a big indulgence if not watched carefully. Be on guard
at all times and keep a close watch on your food intake, even on weekends. Otherwise
all your hard work during the week was for nothing.
