Life Teaches

Layers of light and dark echo through my mind.

I remember younger years of a peaceful time.

Things that I had to deal with only involving me.

Now things I deal with involve some unity.

My hopes and dreams are the same picture

but in a different frame. Though I am the same person

so much around me has changed.

I am not able to trust and understand the way I use to.

Some play insidious bits that harshly teach you.

So my finite exist, I do have a heart.

The down side is it can be ripped apart.

My eyes see the distance.

My mind knows no bounds.

Still I am visibly suspended,

by things I have found.

Growing wide as a tree

spreading far as the lakes.

Life teaches lessons

if were willing to make mistakes.
