A wise historian once said,
"Dipped in chocolate, bronzed with elegance, enameled with grace, toasted
with beauty. My Lord, she is a black woman!" CMX Sports and Entertainment
Channel is hosting an ongoing celebration of the
spirit, talents, hard work, dedication, triumphs, success, passions, and
experiences of black women. From Harriet Tubman to Oprah Winfrey, strong and
sassy black women have helped shape

Right from the beginning, women of African descent have played an important
and noteworthy role in the American experience. Each woman's story tells of
each woman's personal journey and monumental contribution to society. Some of
these women are well known, while others will be a welcome addition to this
emerging history. These are women who, knowingly or unknowingly, have changed
every American's destiny through their contributions as writers, artists, teachers,
civic leaders, medical professionals, or entrepreneurs. And there are those who
simply represent the collective black experience--from the days of slavery
through abolition, the civil rights movement, and beyond.
CMX management has a fairly good idea of the glorious strength and resilience
of black women. CMX owners are Demetrius "Tony" Brown and Eric Brown.
The women in the office, Jan Dinerman, Celestine Brown, Rieina Lampkin, Jessica
Pennman and Tina Alicea, are fast to assist you with whatever your needs may
be. I am amazed at their remarkable professionalism, style and service. The
channel features outstanding Ladies of Soul of all colors and races-- past,
present and ultimately the future. CMX offers the best varieties of all real
women. Join the channel's web site at www.cmxtv.com.

Don Cornelius has been on the cutting edge of Soul and R&B music for more
than 30 years. A star in his name placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1997
and his 1995 induction into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame recognized
his achievements and influence.
The Ninth Annual Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards TV Special highlighted two
of the highest honors, a perfect film princess and a profoundly unique music
superstar. The special award presentations included the coveted Lena Horne
Award for outstanding career achievements to be presented to the amazingly
beautiful and talented Vivica Fox and the equally coveted Aretha Franklin
Achievement Award for outstanding career achievements to be presented to
profoundly lovely and gifted, triple 2003 Lady of Soul Awards nominee Erykah
Badu.
Tribune Entertainment Company President and CEO Dick Askin remarked, "We
believe in the whole concept of Lady of Soul, and it always achieves wonderful results
on our stations. The people who worked with Katie Jones, Morris Abraham who
directed the Lady of Soul Awards and George Duke who served as music director
are key people with an ongoing commitment to quality television
entertainment."
Karen Sundell and Liane Mori of Rogers & Cowan served to increase much
appreciated recognition of their Public Relations and CMX Sports and
Entertainment TV worked together to get the information reported to the reader.
The Ninth Annual Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards proved to be worthy of the
highest praise.
