Miss World 2007 Shang Zilin a twenty three year old lovely Chinese lady, (who would have guessed that China would one day have a Miss World ? ),…….won the title in front of millions of people who tuned in from over 200 countries. 

From Beijing, she was the favorite of the bookmakers along with Miss Dominican Republic. She was also the tallest contestant at 182 centimeters (six feet).

"If I win I want to become a link between the Olympic Games (in Beijing next year) and the Miss World Organization. I want to use the power and beauty of Miss World to support those in need," she said, speaking throughout in hesitant English, adding a few words in Chinese. The crowning of Shang Zilin was celebrated with spectacular fireworks that exploded above the crown-shaped theatre, where visitors had paid up to 300 dollars for a ticket.

 

 

Lost Idol nothing more than that………..

Just after two weeks after being charged with battery and possession of cocaine, former American Idol finalist Jessica Sierra was arrested again in Los Angeles last weekend. Sierra, 22, was charged with disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest and violating conditions of her parole from a prior arrest. She was being held without bond.

 

Baby Shower for Nicole Richie

An Oz-themed baby shower for Nicole at the Beverly Hills Hotel was hosted Dec. 1st and organized by her mother Brenda, her sister Sophia and her so to speak best friend Paris Hilton.  Around 1:30pm Nicole, 26 arrived in a lovely blue dress and was greeted by the Oz characters, all in a life-size replica.                                                                             “The shower was really wonderful,” Hilton told the media. “We had a lovely Wizard of Oz cake.” Around 90 guests arrived for the baby shower, which ended around 4 p.m.

 

Brad Pitt wants to help re-build New Orleans.

On the December 3rd airing of the morning Today Show, Brad Pitt announced his newest non-movie venture. He is working on launching a new foundation, “Make it Right,” to help develop and build at least 150 environmentally friendly and economical homes by mid of next summer in New Orleans, specifically in the badly damaged lower 9th Ward.

Pitt, 43, explained that building the homes — which will use the maximum capacity of solar and wind energy to reduce utility costs by as much as 65 percent — has become his top priority for the next year. Guess the movie plans are on hold for now……………

 

Pimp C, member of the veteran Houston rap group UGK, was found dead in on Tuesday December 4, 2007 in a hotel in Los Angeles. He was 33

Pimp C, real name Chad Butler, and partner Bun B were pioneers of Southern rap. They achieved fame with their cameo on Jay-Z's hit "Big Pimpin'."  The group is signed to Jive Records.

 

Actor Ray Liotta has pleaded not guilty to a reckless driving charge. Police arrest him after he drove into two parked cars. He was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If Liotta is found guilty he could have faced up to six months in jail. His attorney, Blair Berk, released a statement saying that Ray took some medication and had an unexpected allergic reaction. Back in February, Liotta was arrested in a car crash in Los Angeles. Liotta is best known for playing gangster Henry Hill in the 1990 film "Goodfellas."
