THE
POLICE – ONE LAST TIME
The Police will go on the road for the last time! The band will
tour through North America before calling it quits for good, sources close to
the tour tell Billboard.biz.
The Police -- Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland -- will play 30 dates in
May through July in North America, with 15 announced European concerts squeezed
between the America Tour in June.
Elvis Costello & the Imposters are confirmed to open the entire run of
North American dates, with the last concert in the first week in August.
A source close to the band members states that these dates will be the last time
the band will perform together as the Police – ever! It will be a very
lucrative reunion, as the tour will likely end up in the $320 million estimated
gross range, with attendance in North America of about three million. It would
make it one of the top five highest-grossing tours of all times in the music
history.
The Police reunion tour is promoted and organized by Arthur Fogel,
chairman of TNA International, the global touring arm of Live Nation, and
produced by RZO Productions.
