Wesley Snipes was acquitted Friday February 1st, 2008 of federal tax fraud and conspiracy. However jurors found him guilty on three misdemeanor counts of failing to file a tax return. Snipes still can face up to three years in prison, and is still liable for millions in taxes likely to be pursued in civil court. If he would have been convicted on all charges he could have faced up to 16 years in prison. Snipes, who also appeared in "White Men Can't Jump," are one of many most famous targets of an IRS criminal investigation. His prosecution was important to the government. The IRS bears a unique burden of proof in criminal tax cases. It must show not only that someone broke the law, but he or she did so with willful, bad purpose to defraud the government.

Britney Spears father, James Spears, was appointed by the court to be in charge of the troubled pop star's welfare. It sure was an unexpected court appearance by him and mother Lynne Spears, just a day after their daughter was brought to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. Sam Lutfi, the man seen escorting Britney and so to be manager, was immediately    removed by the court with a restraining order. This was the 2nd time hospitalization for Britney in this year already who has shown odd behavior after she filed for divorce from Kevin Federline. Madonna’s director debut, her new film “Filth and Wisdom” premiered this week at the Berlin Film Festival. “Filth and Wisdom” received mixed reviews of Madonna’s debut performance of famous music. Barely a feature film the movie runs for stunning 81 minutes. Shelia Johnson from the Telegraph describes the movie “Filth and Wisdom” as essentially my way of putting myself through film school. The movie is disappointing perhaps, but not and out right embarrassment. However the London Times recommends the film, the paper summarized the film by stating “despite its many short comings and an ending so mushy, it would embarrass Richard Curtis, Madonna has done herself proud. She has an artistic ambition that is simply passed her husband and film director Guy Ritchie.

No Strings Attached E News opinion “A film student in the first semester can do a better job”! Stick with the music Madonna!

The Grammy 2008

Well again it was time for the most prestigious musical event of the year.

”The Grammy’s”! With special guest performances by Beyonce, Tina Turner, Kayne West and Amy Wine House,  who for what matter barely seemed to make it through her set, “ I said no, no, no, I think its is about time for someone to start saying yes, yes,  yes, if you know what I mean!” This years Grammy’s was full of electrifying performances by so many great artist!

Amy Wine House however stole the show with her Grammy takes for Record of the Year, Best New Artist and Song of the Year. The biggest surprise of the show went to Herbie Hancock, for Album of Year. The most touching performance of the night has to go to Kayne West for “Hey Mama” you got to love this guy, even when you want to hate him. I mean I now I wasn’t the only one who got a little teary eyed, or was I! However, I am sure next years Grammy’s will lead for more unusual great red carpet does and don’ts from the funny hairstyles and famous people who for sure had no business wearing certain outfits, if you know what I mean!
