Samuel
Toole is an MFA Graduate from the Academy of Art University, having completed
his thesis with an emphasis in film production. Mr. Toole also earned a BFA in
film at Concordia University in Montreal, where he shot, produced and directed
two short films.
Born
and raised in Chicago, IL, he returned to Chicago for about a year after
completing his undergraduate degree and worked as a probation officer in the
night narcotics and domestic violence division. Realizing that film making
& producing was his passion, Mr. Toole decided to move to Paris, France to
pursue a career in the film industry.
While there, Mr. Toole directed and produced a
documentary on Parisian Art Squats, which are abandoned buildings taken over by
artists to create studio space. The postproduction for this film was done in
Rome, where he also lived for six months. The documentary was showcased at the Palais Des Tokyo in Paris, France.
Currently,
Mr. Toole is working as a producer on two independent films and a television
pilot. All three projects were shot in San Francisco. The television pilot
is called, "Country Fried Quiche" and is in development with HBO
Comedy Division, headed by Jada Miranda.
In
addition to this pilot, Mr. Toole has been involved with many projects in the
television and film industry and has formed many valuable relationships and
contacts, including Henry McGee Vice, President of HBO Video/DVD, Annabel
Kennedy of Number 9 Films in London, England, Stephen Woolley, producer of the feature film
The Crying Game and most recently Brian Jones, who wrote a biography of the
musical group the Rolling Stones. These relationships have greatly added to his
ability to work on many film projects as a producer.
