Erotica (from the
Greek Eros - "desire") —
refers to works of art, including literature, photography, film, sculpture and
painting, that deal substantively with erotically stimulating or arousing
descriptions. Erotica is a modern word used to describe the portrayal of
the human anatomy and sexuality with high-art aspirations, differentiating such
work from commercial pornography.
Now that we have
the meaning of Erotica clear, lets move on. As women we finally have the go ahead to accept
our sexuality as something that is beautiful, powerful, sensual and
meaningful. We are in fact sexual and
spiritual beings.
Sociaty in
general is finally saying to us… yes, get yours and get it when, where and how
you want it ladies. Enjoying sex is no
longer ‘only for men’. There is no need
to hide behind being like a man to feel comfortable with your sexuality. No longer is it necessary to allow yourself to
be degraded by negative images in order to remove responsibility and blame someone else
for how the female body is protraded.
Erotica is simply
being in-touch with your body, knowing what you like sexually and how you like
it. It is about being open and honest
with yourself and being able to express just that. Release fear and let go of old hang-ups that
may have kept you closed off and out of touch sexually. Let go of all those prehistoric do’s and
don’t and start fresh. There is nothing
to fear, love conquerors all!
