Why?

The low is inevitably equal to that high…

And it evokes the commonly asked question of “why?”

Why did he agree when I asked him to try?

When we are young why is it so appealing to get high?

Why cant I get my life together when all I do is try?

Why is it ok only for some people to lie?

I’m talking about Cops, Politicians, religious people in high positions.

And sometimes why cant I just listen?

Its so hard to attain yet so easy to envision.

Why are boys and men so disrespectful to women?

Why does it feel like I’m the one always giving?

And the payoff wont make it back around, at least while I’m still living.

What ever happened to forgiving?

Just checking because this some real talk that I’m spitting.

Why is college made so hard to get in?

Then they criticize when we don’t intellectually fit in.

Why does life as a whole make no damn sense?

And why am I not more careful with whom my time is spent?

Why do I love the men who don’t want to and cant pay my rent?

Let alone have a job, what’s up with that S***?

Why do I ask these questions when in my heart I already know the answer?

Why do I smoke newports knowing damn well they cause cancer?

Why do the nice guys always finish last?

And by the way, why didn’t God give white women all that ass?
