Marty Meltz

Marty Meltz has been a published film reviewer for 36 years, of which the last 30 were as regular twice-weekly freelance reviewer of the New England Award-winning Portland (Maine) Press herald and Maine Sunday Telegram. The latter is a statewide paper, the largest north of Boston, reaching also into New Hampshire. At the end of 2007, the paper downsized and terminated various columns, including the Meltz reviews.
Meltz immediately began his own website at www.martymoviereviews.com. Since 1970, he has seen over 5,000 movies of which he’s reviewed over 3,500.
Meltz was a filmmaker and video maker of commercials and recruitment films in the ‘70s through the ‘90s, and had many appearances on Maine radio and TV channels, with his own 5-minute spot on Net New England.
Meltz had been a lifetime photographer whose black & white work was sponsored on
3-year, one-man road shows by the Maine State Commission on the Arts and Humanities and the University of Maine and in a special exhibition by the J. Walter Thompson Company of New York. He was in invitational juried shows at the Philadelphia and Cambridge Art Alliances.
