Erik was born on October 25^th, 1975 in Chicago, Illinois.  After graduating from The University of Wisconsin in 1997  with degrees in history and geography, he decided to pursue a career in finance.  Erik worked at a brokerage firm until 2002 when he could not stand being trapped in an office anymore.  He took a couple years off to vagabond and travel all around the world, and upon returning in 2004, decided to  enter the travel industry. 

 

    After a period of time working with an established tour operator, he decided to form his own company- Erik's Adventures, LLC www.eriksadventures.com .  Erik’s passion for travel, outdoor sports, and adventure has led him to the peaks of high mountains, under the ocean to some of the world’s great reefs, through the Amazon rain forest and jungles of South East Asia, across deserts on camels, and into the arctic waters of the far north.

 

    These are just a part of what he has seen and done all around the world.  Currently with his company, Erik's Adventures, he organizes and takes groups on international trips and outdoor adventures.  He is an avid outdoorsman, competitive marathon and distance runner, and loves to write about and discuss travel.  He has numerous stories, experiences, and travel tips to share.
