As President and Founder of Atela Productions, Inc., Monica
Davis brings significant television production and computer technology
experience to her position. Ms. Davis has a B.S. in Management Information
Systems, several computer certifications, and a broad background in
television production.
The mission of Atela Productions, Inc. is to promote among
people of diverse backgrounds a renewed vision, unity and better living
through positive media, thus the conception of Extraordinary Everyday People
in 1999 - a television series that served many local communities in the
Washington, D.C. area. After producing only seven episodes, the show received a National Honorable Mention Award in 2000
at the Hometown Video Festival, local cable’s largest awards competition.
From 1998 to 2004 Ms. Davis served two terms on the Board of Directors of Arlington Independent Media, a local cable television station in Arlington,
Virginia; ending her tenure as Vice President in 2004. During her tenure she
also served as Chairperson of the Facilities Committee and a member of the
Finance, Facilities and Administrative Committees. Her thorough research and
recommendations lead to operational improvements.
As creator, Executive Producer and host of the new Monica Davis Show, Monica has over 6 years of experience in understanding and assisting with the production of television programs for broadcasting. On several occasions, Ms. Davis has served as a host, interviewee and panelist on other local television shows in the Washington, D.C. area.
Her overall television experience includes directing, videography, lighting, graphics, and post-production. From both sides of the spectrum, she understands the dedication and discipline it takes to produce quality. Working full-time and attending school full-time, Ms Davis funded her own undergraduate degrees in Computer and Management Information Systems, and certifications in the computer field. By recommendation, she has also traveled around the world with two U.S. Secretaries of State to destinations including Kuwait, Iceland, and Denmark – another testimonial to her ability to make things happen. In 1998, she published the book, “On the Receiving in Collection of Works for Realizing the Potential Within Ourselves” for which she was interviewed on several local news and talk shows in the Washington, D.C. area. She is now working on a revised version of the book in addition to a new self-help book. In 2003 Monica Davis was named Honorary Board Member of Toast to Humanity, an organization that utilizes cause-branding to help raise funds and awareness for exploited children and other social causes. Ms. Davis has established an ongoing relationship with a local Boys and Girls Club in the Washington, D.C. area, United Nations and the Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund to foster a positive environment for youth and to highlight their achievements.
